BIOGRAPHY

Emily Masser is a 21-year-old jazz singer from Wigan, currently studying at London’s Guildhall School of Music.

Having received a superb musical education at the renowned Chetham’s School of Music, Emily also benefitted from invaluable mentorship by her father, respected saxophonist Dean Masser.

Her breakthrough came with the release of her recent album Songs With My Father, a heartfelt project dedicated to her late mother. The album has been met with glowing reviews and critical acclaim, praised for Emily’s "pin-sharp singing, sparkling scat, and polished vocalese" (UK Jazz Views), as well as for the warmth and maturity of her interpretations.

Since then, Emily has toured with her band — featuring Matyas Gayer, James Owston, and Steve Brown — presenting her arrangements and vocals with a freshness and maturity that has quickly established her as a "new star of British Jazz."

In high demand, Emily and her band have appeared at many of the UK’s leading jazz festivals and clubs, including the Buxton International Festival, Swanage Jazz Festival, Scarborough Jazz Festival, Southport Jazz Festival and Pizza Express Dean Street, further cementing her reputation as one of the most exciting young voices on the scene today.
